UF Emerson Alumni Hall

A variety of materials and installation methods were used in this project.

Perforated vinyl

View through vinyl

It’s hard to tell in the photo but it’s over 27 ft to the top of the glass. When looking out through the windows the view and light are not obstructed.

Large metal panels are printed and joined together to make one beautiful design.

Frosted stripes

When entering the hall you will see coarse gold frosted stripes running down the glass handrails while both sides of the second floor is pillared with blue and orange perforated viny.

Custom Signs

A vehicle with a custom paint job can be enhanced with Custom Signs to create a lasting impression on the road for your company. Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants recently came to us seeking to add signs to a custom painted red and white Chevy HR.

 Blog 3-2

They opted for graphics to be placed on rear upper panel and rear window. The graphics on the vehicle’s sides compliment the paint job, without interfering with the pin striping near the handles. The signs work with the paint scheme in their placement rather than appearing as an afterthought.  The material used on the rear window is perforated allowing the driver to see unimpeded from inside the vehicle, and this graphic finishes the continuous white silhouette across the top of the vehicle.

Lobby Signs

Lobby Signs are the first impression of your business that your clients receive when they walk in your door. You can never get that initial “Bang” back, either they are impressed, concerned or excited. Stand Off Panels are an affordable way to incorporate your logo or slogan into the entrance of your office.

Clear Stand Off

Lobby Signs can take on many different forms. Stand off Panels can come in any color, shape or style that will compliment the brand you promote. From clear, colored, brushed or cut out, the options are versatile and customizable.

Frosted Stand off

Lobby Signs can take on an individual characteristic. Not limited to a panel, Lobby Signs can have your logo or slogan looking like you are a well ground franchise that has put a lot of time and thought into its branding. Single cut Acrylic, PVC or Metal letters will make your clients feel confident and secure that their choice to hire you was the right one.

Cut Acrylic

Lobby Signs sometimes mean that you need to let you clients know they have arrived at the correct location. First Impressions sometimes need to start by the front door. Custom cut Acrylic Logos are a great way to impress clients before they walk inside. This style is designed for the outdoors, standing up to the elements with ease.

No Job is too Short!?!

Cardinal Signs can install interior signs to almost any specification, no matter how unusual. We recently installed several ADA compliant signs at a dialysis center. (ADA compliant signs typically include Braille and mark rooms, restrooms, exits, stairwells, etc.) As many dialysis patients utilize wheelchairs for their mobility, the contractor for the center requested that all of the signs be placed 50 inches from the finished floor, making the signs visible to both walking and wheelchair bound persons. We were able to quickly install the requested signs to the desired “shorter” specifications, demonstrating that no job is too small or short for Cardinal Signs.

Custom Look for your Vehicle-Making It a Reality

You are looking to give your car, truck, golf car, or trailer a custom look, but custom paint is a dream that you can’t afford to make a reality. Cardinal Signs can apply high-quality, UV resistant, full color graphics to any vehicle, at a price point to suit any budget. Keep in mind, the smaller and simpler the graphic, the cheaper the cost. Small graphics, however, can have a surprisingly BIG impact.

Not sure where to start? If you can dream it up, we can make it possible. You can add hibiscus flowers and a surf board to your mini-cooper, camouflage to your ATV, a flourish to your mini-van, flames to your charger, or a full-color alligator to your tailgate (just in time for those Saturdays at the swamp), to name a few ideas.

This custom-designed, western-themed silhouette on parchment really enhances the look of this Chevy truck. This unique design is guaranteed to look as good as the day it was installed, for up to 7 years.

Camouflage is a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts. Cardinal Signs uses specialized materials that can be formed and applied to any painted vehicle surface, including curved bumpers and fender wells, hoods, roof tops, etc.

Think your idea might be too big? Even a full-sized RV can have custom graphics installed.

No matter the vehicle, no matter the idea, customized, full-color graphics can be designed and installed by Cardinal Signs customizing the look of your vehicle in ways you’ve only imagined.

Subdivision Sign Repair

You live in a Subdivision with broken or missing letters, and you’re not sure where to begin. Cardinal Signs can make professional, long-lasting repairs for damaged subdivision signs, just like the one at Sterling Place.

422

Why do letters fall off?

Subdivision signs most frequently need to be repaired/replace due to adhesive failure or vandalism. The Sterling Place subdivision sign originally consisted of plastic letters attached to a brick wall with a liquid nail type adhesive. Liquid nail is a very inexpensive adhesive often used by sign installers. Over time, it becomes weak and brittle. As the brick continues to expand and contract, the weakened adhesive cracks and the sign letters fall off.

Replacing a subdivision sign:

Once the sign letters have been damaged (or are missing), the entire sign must be replaced. At Sterling Place, the PVC plastic letters were replaced with acrylic, a more durable product that is not prone to cracking or fading. To avoid adhesive failure, the preferred application for sign letters involves using an exterior silicon-based adhesive with threaded studs.

Each letter has multiple studs; studs are placed into pre-drilled holes filled with adhesive. A paper template, marked with exact drilling locations, ensures that the letters are installed, level, straight and spaced correctly. Stud installation is time-consuming, but it guarantees that letters will not fall off in the case of a future adhesive failure. In the future, loose letters can be repaired with additional adhesive.

The final result at Sterling Place is a new sign that will last for many years to come.

How to: Magnetic Sign Installation & Storage

So, you have purchased magnetic signs for your vehicle because of their versatility and value. As a savvy entrepreneur, you want to know how to keep your investment affixed firmly to your car, while avoiding any damage to your vehicle’s painted surfaces.

Magnetic signs must be applied to painted surfaces that are cured. Surfaces that are not properly cured may be damaged by the magnetic signs. Curing times can vary, but the following figures represent average curing times.

Curing # of Days

Proper application of magnetic signs is also vital to their performance and will minimize potential damage to your vehicle’s exterior. Below are step-by-step instructions detailing how to properly install your signs.

  • Clean both the magnet and the door panel with a mild detergent, rinse, and allow to air-dry.
  • Place the magnet on a flat surface on your vehicle, while avoiding moldings, plastic trim, and concave areas.
  • There must not be any air pockets behind the magnet.
  • Install the sign at room temperature or at temperatures greater than 60º F. Magnetic signs should not be used at temperatures greater than 160º F or lower than -15º F.
  • Do not reposition the magnet by sliding along the vehicle’s surface. This may result in warping or stretching of the magnetic. Always reposition by lifting the magnet and re-adhering.
  • Only apply magnetic signs to the sides or rear of the vehicle. Avoid horizontal surfaces like the hood and roof.
  • Keep in mind, long-term daily use of magnetic signs may result in uneven fading. Surfaces under the signs are not exposed to the same levels of sunlight.

How you store your magnetic signs will affect their future performance. Magnetic signs can be rolled or stacked for storage. When rolling, do not roll with the magnet facing out, but roll with the magnet toward the interior. Store the roll standing on its end, in order to avoid developing a flat spot. When storing flat, do not stack items on top of you signs, as this may dent or crease the soft material. Never place the magnetic sides together! This will degrade your magnets.

We hope this information will help you and your car as you install and utilize magnetic signs.
